If this is the kind of community service involvement you are interested in pursuing, we would love to welcome you to one of our meetings as our guest. Our meetings are at 7:30 am on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month at Mt. Zion AME Church, 420 NE 33 St., Oakland Park, Florida. Join us and see how a small group of committed citizens can make big differences for children, young and old, in our community. Our dues are $160.00 per year, but prorated depending when you join. Our fiscal year begins on October 1 and ends on September 30th. Please contact our Membership Coordinator, Dennis Buchta at [email protected] or [email protected]. To help you find a friendly face, below is a picture of Dennis at our Annual Halloween Pancake Breakfast. He most likely will not have the frog suit on. Would you like an application to join?

At our June 3 meeting, we were honored to welcome our fellow Kiwanian and guest speaker, State Representative Mitch Rosenwald, who represents Florida House District 98. Mitch shared updates on the latest developments coming out of Tallahassee and offered valuable insight into the work being done at the state level. He was joined by his aide, Brian Seavitt. For anyone wishing to reach him, Mitch can be contacted at [email protected].
We also enjoyed a special introduction from Lt. James Murray, long‑time member of Oakland Park Kiwanis, who brought Deputy G. DiCarlo of BSO Oakland Park to meet our club. It’s always meaningful to connect with the officers who serve and protect our community.
Another great meeting of service, fellowship, and community partnership. ... See MoreSee Less
Our Oakland Park Kiwanis members visited North Andrews Gardens Elementary in recent days, continuing our commitment to supporting young learners in our community. Harvey Ross delivered books for every Kindergarten student so they can continue their reading over the summer. Elaine Hall also presented awards to our Terrific Kids for the final time this academic year, celebrating students who exemplify character and kindness.
We send all of our Oakland Park students, teachers, and families our warmest wishes for a very happy summer. See you in the fall! ... See MoreSee Less
