Oakland Park Kiwanis – Speaker Highlight: Abby Mosher, Founding CEO of Tomorrow’s Rainbow
At today’s Oakland Park Kiwanis meeting, we were honored to welcome Abby Mosher, Founding CEO of Tomorrow’s Rainbow, an extraordinary organization dedicated to supporting children, teens, caregivers, and adults who are healing from grief, loss, or trauma.
Abby shared the impactful work her organization provides to the community, including:
Free mental health support services for children ages 3 through high school, as well as their caregivers and adults. Twice‑monthly grief support groups, offered year‑round. Equine‑assisted psychotherapy, delivered by an Eagala Certified team, integrating therapeutic horse experiences to promote emotional wellness. Specialized outreach to under‑resourced communities, bringing support directly to at‑risk youth.
We deeply appreciate the time Abby took to join our meeting and educate our Kiwanis club about the meaningful and compassionate services Tomorrow’s Rainbow provides.
Oakland Park Kiwanis is proud to share that our own Sandy Melillo was asked to sew the gold fringe on the American Flag carried by the Florida Pipe and Drums Academy in today’s Independence Day Parade in Washington, D.C.
The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. on this 4th of July, and Sandy’s beautifully finished flag will be flying in our nation’s capital for all to see.
The Florida Pipe and Drums Academy is made up of dedicated men and women firefighters from across Florida, many of whom are retired. Their service, discipline, and patriotism shine through every performance—and today, they march with a flag touched by the hands of one of our own.
Sandy “Betsy Ross” Melillo, congratulations on this special honor. Your craftsmanship and community spirit represent Oakland Park Kiwanis beautifully.
